Witness and dash cam appeal after fatal collision in Potters Bar

Police are appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage following a fatal collision in Potters Bar.

Officers were called at 8.36am yesterday (Tuesday 25 August) to the incident involving a coach and a cyclist on Great North Road, at the junction with Church Road. 

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the cyclist, a man aged in his 60s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

A 58-year-old man from Stevenage was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and bailed pending further enquiries. 

Detective Constable Neil Crosier, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Firstly, my thoughts are with the man’s loved ones at this difficult time.

“I am appealing for anyone with information to please come forward. Additionally, if you have a dash cam fitted, please check it in case you recorded any crucial footage. This can be uploaded via https://upload.5fdams.aetopia.net/?ref=W5AEJX.
